This index is measured on a range of 0 to 10.
For customers taking supply at 33kV of below, the value of the power factor to be maintained is ≥0.85. Power factor < 0.85 will result in power factor surcharge.
For customers taking supply at 132kV or above, the value of the power factor to be maintained is ≥0.90. Power factor <0.90 will result in power factor surcharge. Read More
A Power factor surcharge is imposed when your power factor is less than 0.90 (electricity supply 132kV and above) or less than 0.85 (electricity supply below 132 kV).
Power factor surcharge for customers with electricity supply below 132 kV is calculated as follows:

A high Power Factor index (e.g. above 0.85 or 0.90) indicates an efficient level of electricity usage. On the other hand, a low Power Factor index (e.g. under 0.85 or 0.90) shows an inefficient use of electricity, indicating electricity wastage.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner el_class=”x-btns_block”][vc_column_inner][vc_btn title=”Charges Penalties” css_animation=”bottom-to-top” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tnb.com.my%2Fcommercial-industrial%2Fcharges-penalties%2F|target:_blank”][vc_btn title=”Energy Commission” css_animation=”bottom-to-top” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fbinatenaga.com.my%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2021%2F09%2Fbinatenaga-powerfactor20mei201312.pdf|target:_blank”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”bottom-to-top” el_class=”x-legal_box”][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Is it Legal? Customers are encouraged to consistently maintain a high Power Factor index (above 0.85 or 0.90). A Power Factor Surcharge will be imposed on Power Factor index below 0.85 or 0.90.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the primary global GHGs.
According to BP’s Statistical Review of World Energy 2019, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from energy use grew 2% last year, this research also reveal that Malaysia’s CO2 emissions amounted to 250.3 million tones last year, up from 241.6 million tones in 2017. The main sources of the emissions were energy (electricity consumption), mobility (vehicles) and waste (municipal solid waste that ends up in landfills).
Mitigating GHG emissions from operation can be done through energy efficiency improvement. Our PFCS™ device, despite helping client in preventing a power loss and reducing their Building Energy Index, we also can improve an efficiency level of usage for machinery and any inductance appliances in commercial and industrial sector which tend to reduce GHG emissions.
This will lead to help the government through Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) in achieving an objective of LOW CARBON CITY BY 2030.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][stm_works cols=”1″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” css_animation=”bottom-to-top” css=”.vc_custom_1634092848126{margin-top: 80px !important;border-top-width: 1px !important;padding-top: 101px !important;border-top-color: #cccccc !important;border-top-style: solid !important;}” el_class=”x-major-clients_block”][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Major clients” font_container=”tag:h4|text_align:center” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”159″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”160″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”158″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”157″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”156″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”155″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”154″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”153″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”152″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”151″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”150″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”149″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”148″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”145″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”189″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”147″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”146″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_single_image image=”183″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
